Fairfield Center Jewelers is a proud member of the American Gem Society and has been providing insurance appraisals for more than 50 years.
Many of our customers believe their jewelry to be automatically and completely covered on their homeowner’s policy. Most policies provide only limited coverage and then only under specific circumstances. For example, damage to a stone, loss of gems from a mounting, and other various perils are rarely covered. For complete coverage, we recommend an Insurance Replacement Appraisal. Ask you insurance company for a jewelry floater on your homeowner’s policy. This will cover loss and damage to an item above and beyond the basic coverage from theft.
For estate jewelry, we recommend an Estate Appraisal. This is used to determine an estimated selling price for an item between a willing seller and a willing buyer.
A professional appraisal requires a minimum of three business days to complete. We are always available for consultation on the care of your fine jewelry and recommend that items be inspected once a year for their integrity and strength.
